J9, the next time something or someone wonderful/appealing/attractive presents itself to you, or is presented to you, YOU TAKE IT! Don't think too much about the negative consequences anymore. It was presented to you for a reason. And you take it especially when it is served on a silver platter and when there are no strings attached. Seldom does it happen that there are no strings attached. You never know when opportunities like these will come again, if they do come again, and you're gonna be left wondering WHAT IF. And you know you hate that. Look at yourself now, you're regretting that you didn't grab that once in a lifetime opportunity. Crap

It's the return of the BGIRL!!!

Thea's right. It ain't fair to the guys if us girls just write about what about them turns us off. I mean, they've got good qualities too, right? At first I didn't want to do this meme because... well... I couldn't think of anything! Hahaha! I don't know, this morning I was still kinda bitter about (and towards) guys because of several traumatic experiences, which are very much evident in my last two blogs. Haha!

But hey, I'd be a hypocrite if I keep looking at guys in a bad light, and I get turned off by pessimistic guys. Haha! And actually I do remember doing something similar to this over three years ago. I was so idealistic back then, swear! Haha! I'll try to tone it down this time...

List down 10 major Turn-Ons when dating the opposite sex.  Then tag 10 people you want to do the same.

  1. Guys who make me laugh are really attractive. Number one on my list talaga. I'm such a babaw person and I love to laugh and have fun. I also like a guy who can laugh at a situation or just take it easy by inserting jokes from time to time. Kinda like those stand up comics. I mean, any person naman diba, if he's like this happy jolly person, he really does attract friends and stuff. But don't turn everything into a joke ha! I might think that you don't take anything seriously.
  2. Gentledogs, este, GENTLEMEN. Of course, given the scarcity of their breed nowadays, it's really a delight to see someone who opens the door for us girls, let us pass through first, carry our heavy stuff, and all other gentlemanly gestures there are in the world. This is because I've been treated as one of the guys for much too long. I deserve a little bit of girly treatment too!
  3. Talented guys totally rock for me. That's why I crush on dancers and musicians because they're just so totally sexy! Hahaha! I guess it's the thought that they might just serenade me or take me to the dance floor and just sweep me off my feet. Gaaahh I'm drooling right now! :) And if that's not enough, guys who know how to cook (and not just the prito2x kind!) are super turn on as well! Huwah! Kinikilig ako! Hahaha!
  4. Guys who hug more than they kiss. Hehehe! Sure kisses are fun and yummy, but there's something so wonderful about hugs that they make me feel so protected and loved and secure, especially when the guy hugging me has muscular arms... HAHAHAH! Damn these carnal fantasies! Hahaha! Oh yeah now I know... kisses kasi, only the lips are touching, but hugs are really more intimate because more parts of the body are in touch with each other. Wala lang, hugs are so comforting, so I love guys who love hugs. Hahaha!
  5. Oh, boys who DONT need booze to have fun! I totally agree with Ria! Natural high is definitely the way to go! That's why it sucked talaga when my boyfriend said, "Saka mo lang ako mapapasayaw pag lasing na ako." Like duh, yeah it's fun to dance in tipsy mode, but dancing's a lot more enjoyable when NOT buzzed! Boys who need alcohol to have fun have too many inhibitions, man. They need to loosen up! :)
  6. Boys who have hobbies are more interesting than boys who don't. And I'm not talking about computer games because those are lame and for high school and grade school kids only. I'm talking about guys who play sports or whatever other productive things.
  7. Guys who are close with their family. Wala lang. Family values. Hahaha! I'm thinking more long term here. Coz I can be sure that guys who treat their mommas and sisters and nieces and aunts well will also treat me right! Plus, if the's raised with good values, then he can also raise his own family with good values. Ehehe!
  8. Mga lalaki na walay kurat! In English, boys who have no shock! Hahahaha! Seriously, though. Boys who are up for anything are really cool. Like I said, I'm pretty adventurous and I wanna hang with guys who are just game. :)
  9. I dig guys who are driven. They know what they want and how to get it. It shows their ambition and hard work. Tsaka they're gonna be more or less happy kasi achieve nila goals nila and they're more or less contented na. No more insecurities in life. Hehehe!
  10. Boys with sweet surprises! Stolen kisses, small gifts/tokens at unexpected moments, dancing under the stars, love letters, and other stuff that only happens in cheesy Filipino movies! Hahahaha! I'll be the first one to admit that I want those kinds of things! Hahaha! Wala eh, certified hopeless romantic here. Hahaha!

*sigh*

Kinikilig tuloy ako. And I'm also reevaluating things right now. Mga pahamak na surveys yan. Makapag-tag na nga!

Okay I'm doing another set of 10 Turn Offs because andami kong naisip ulit pagkagising ko! So here we go again...

List down 10 major Turn-Offs when dating the opposite sex.  Then tag 10 people you want to do the same.

  • Tactless boys. Well tactless people in general. But usually it's tactless boys who say this to me... "Uy tumaba ka!" Pakyu! Kung di lang ako mabait, baka binalatan na kita eh! I swear man, no matter how true it is, wag mo na lang ibanggit dude! Pramis everytime someone tells me that, bumababa self esteem ko pramis.
  • Yung mga killjoy. I dunno, I'm a pretty adventurous person and I'm always up for anything new. Hence all these culinary stuff, bboying, popping and locking, teaching, meeting new friends. So if a guy's with me tas yayayain ko siyang gawin ang isang something and then he's not willing to try it out, wala. Corny na ang araw. Uwi na lang tayo.
  • Guys, remember grade school? We had a subject called GMRC? Well it was taught to us for a reason. If you have bad eating habits, I will notice that. If you chew with your mouth open, I will notice that. If you don't fold your utensils after you eat, I will notice that. And I do not like that.
  • Another thing about GMRC. Did God stop breeding Gentlemen?! Scarce na yung guys who offer their seats to women. Very evident sa MRT. At may pa-tulog tulog pa silang nalalaman so that they don't need to give up their seats! And yung for example, guy and girl approaching each other tapos the way is narrow. Aba at gusto pang mauna ng guy! Kaya ako talagang binabangga ko yung lalaki if he does that kind of crap to me. LADIES FIRST GAGO!
  • I hate lying boys. Ako kasi, I'm a very trusting person, and whatever you tell me, I believe you, no matter how bogus it may sound. But if I find out that it was all a lie, ewan ko na lang. Masakit ha.
  • Ay eto eto eto! Guys who burp! EWWWWWW. Please reserve the belching contest for your male buds. Tas ang mas malupet is after they burp, I instantly know kung anong kinain nila for breakfast or lunch. EWWWWWW
  • You are a boy. I am a girl. You are supposed to be the independent one. I'm supposed to be the dependent one. I may seem so anti-feminist right now but I kinda like it the old fashioned way. Well being able to stand on our own while still choosing to be together is the best way to go right? That's why if a guy depends on me too much for something, OR EVERYTHING! I really know that I gotta bolt! I do not like role reversal.
  • Values mean everything to me. It means everything to my family. In referrence to the No Ambition turn off, ang pamatay talaga na combination would be someone who doesn't know the value of hard work! I will testify that most of the rags to riches stories are all about hard work.
  • Thou shall not control. I will rebel. Only my parents have the right to make bawal this and bawal that because that is their job. And even I disobey them sometimes.
  • Pessimistic people are such a huge turn-off! Reklamo lang ng reklamo, they don't do anything about it naman. People who don't try to see the positive side of things just suck. Literally. They suck the joy out of things. There are such things as blessings in disguise. I don't like people talaga who bring bad vibes to the world by focusing on the negative stuff.

Ayan. Wala. Andami ko lang talagang hinanakit sa mundo, that's why.

So I tag:
Thea
Rosslyn
Hammer
Rakela
Dinah
Ma'am Jho!!
Victor (nagboblog ka ba? haha)
Sheryl
Karen Dio
Mavis
Chikay

List down 10 major Turn-Offs when dating the opposite sex.  Then tag 10 people you want to do the same.

  1. In the words of Avril Lavigne, "I hate it when a guy doesn't get the tab and I have to pull my money out and that looks bad." OMG Yan talaga major turn off! Well I can always settle for dutch, pero bwisit na bwisit talaga ako sa mga lalaki pag niyayaya ko sila to do something like eat or watch a movie or do something fun that requires spending money and then their reply would be, "Manlibre ka?" Sarap sapakiiiin! You know what guys, kahit magkaibigan lang kayo or nanliligaw, or together forever na, NEVER let the girl pay for the entire thing!
  2. I know I have big boobs, but I have a bigger brain, you know. I know that it's in the genetic makeup of all male species to have the tendency to look at the physical aspect of the woman first, but wala namang bastusan mga tol. I have so much more to offer besides mammary glands.
  3. Never ever ever ever EVER make me wait! I hate to wait. And here's the clincher. I try to arrive later than the agreed time so that I don't have to wait, but what happens? I still wait because he's even later than me! Hay nako!
  4. Turn off din sa akin yung mga trying hard douchebags. Especially if they try too hard to speak or write in English tapos mali-mali naman. Ngyak, Ang bobo bobo talaga pakinggan sa akin. Mag Tagalog ka na lang or Bisaya, whichever floats your boat. I'd still be impressed.
  5. My nose is more sensitive than my eyes. Kaya kahit gaano ka pa ka-gwapo, kahit ikaw pa ang dream guy ko na si Rich Herrera, kung mabaho ka rin lang naman, wag na noh!
  6. Guys who make the effort to dress up for an occasion are a huge turn-off for me! I'll use my boyfriend as an example ha? It was our one year anniversary and people who know me know that I don't dress up in a girly manner, but on that day I did because it was a special occasion for us. And when he came out of the house when I picked him up, what did I see? His old maong, and one of those shirts na bigay lang ng tita niya. And I know for a fact that he has this nice pair of dark denims and white polo somewhere in his closet. Kaya ayun, away inabot niya sa akin.
  7. Guys who have no ambition in life are just plain losers. Oh man don't even get me started on this. Lalo na back in college or high school, when I'd ask someone his goals and stuff, and he'd say, "Maka graduate lang, ok na" Nyay! Good luck sayo dong! Graduation is only the start of living the life in the real world! Talo ka pa ng mga bata sa Little Miss Philippines when they're being asked, "Anong gusto mo pag laki mo?" And they answer, "Gusto ko po maging doktor!"
  8. Ay shet potangena eto eto eto!!! Yung mga hindi nagpapakilala sa parents dahil nahihiya (or whatever lame excuse they come up with)! Mga baklita kayo! Come on, be man enough to face the girl's parents, or anybody's parents for that matter! Guys, don't be a bunch of cowards when it comes to meeting the parents. PLEASE LANG. I really don't want to elaborate on this anymore because it's so damn explanatory na.
  9. Oh and guys with no substance are such a turn-off, right? Me I talk a lot and I like to talk about a lot of things, and it would really really REALLY be nice if a guy could ride on to the stuff I'm saying, or he could also contribute to the conversation, should I run out of things to say. Awkward silences are one of the worst things. As in to the point na may krr krr krr na of crickets! I mean, what if you get married na and stuff? The only way not to get bored of each other is to find new things to talk about.
  10. And lastly? And the most important of all? PWEDE BANG WAG KAYONG INSECURE. Insecurity leads to selos-selos, and selos-selos leads to mga bawal-bawal, and before you know it, dami nang resentments talaga. So what if I make new friends? So what if I go out with friends without you? So what if I hang out with guys? Naku lalo na yang hanging out with guys! Ako pa na malapitin sa mga lalaki kasi talagang ka-jive ko yang mga yan... You just have to trust that at the end of the day, it's gonna be you that I'll always come home to.
Meron ba akong pinapatamaan? Hahaha! O sinong natamaan?

Sige I tag

Yay got to dance again! Last Sunday at Brewing Point Dance Studio.
This time I got to try two different styles of dance: Popping and Locking.
Prince was the one who taught us and he taught us the basics of each style.
I had a lot of fun with Locking; I had a hard time with Popping.
Sarap ng pawis mehn!
The last time I danced fo'real was during the Powerdance thing last January.
And before that, it was at least 2 years ago!
Plus, I don't do choreo, having breakdance as my background.
SABAW!
This is the start of my return to the world of kembot kembot. Hahahah!

Ice Princess for a Day

For the very first time in my life, I finally got to step on the ice and go ice skating! It was a lot easier than I expected because I did rollerblading when I was in elementary, but the whole balancing thing was pretty hard. Cathy and I started at around 11AM and we ate lunch at noon and then skated again up to almost 4PM. My feet are really sore now after all that skating!

It was fun skating in the morning because there were only three of us. The other one was a 7 year old girl named Belle who's from California. In the afternoon there were more skaters, some of them were figure skaters. They were really good! They make skating look so easy, when in fact it wasn't. I bet I looked really awkward on the ice, although I am pretty proud of the fact that I didn't need to use the railings and I could already go semi-fast and do semi-turns. Yay! And they're all caught on video too!

Okay I just have to make mention of something that happened while Cathy and I were skating. It was right after lunch and it was just me, Cathy and a few other kids who were skating. There was this dude who was watching us from above and I thought I heard him call for me. When I looked up he was waving and shaking his head and smiling, so I thought he called me because he thought that I was someone he knew. So I kept on skating. But then every time I look up to see the people who were watching, I always caught him looking at me and smiling at me, and at one point, he waved again. I got weirded out. Then I looked up again a bit later and found out that he was gone. It turns out he went down to the basement and sat at the bleachers by the skating rink! Of course I didn't mind him, but then he was calling my attention again and was sticking a piece of paper against the wall of the rink. Cathy and I went over to read it, and it said:

"I think you're very beautiful. I want to be your friend. Can we talk?"

ULOOOOOOOL!!!! Hahahahah! O ano, kinilig ba kayo? Hahahaha! Bolero amp. Cathy and I ended up laughing and I shook my head no to his question, and he frowned, and I skated away. And then Cathy gave him the L sign on the forehead! Hahaha! But after 15 minutes, the boy still wouldn't go away. Sheesh. I went back to him and yelled long enough for him to hear, "Ano ba kasi gusto mo?"

He wrote down on his paper, "Marunong ka pala mag-Tagalog. Can we talk outside?"

I said no and I pointed to my skates. Cathy was giving him the L sign again, and he appeared to be offended by what she did. I did talk to him eventually, but I didn't go out of the rink. We just talked by the place where the walls weren't so high. Cathy was still giving him the L sign and he defended himself by saying, "Nakikipagkilala ako in a formal way. Hindi naman ako Lustful ah."

WAHAHAHAHHA! POTANGENAHHH he thought that the L standed for Lustful?!?!? Bwahahaha! Now that's a big fat LLLLoser right there! Binara ko kaagad and said, "Dude, she's nine years old! Hindi nga niya alam anong ibig sabihin ng Lustful eh!"

Anyway he asked for my name and I said it was Jessica. Aba at nagandahan naman siya sa pangalan ko! Hahahaha. He also asked if I have a boyfriend, and I said yes. And humirit pa 'tong pinsan ko, "And he's a lot better than you!" Hahahaha that's my cousin right there! May talent din pala sa pambabara. Hahaha! And Cathy whispered to me, "You should also tell him that you're engaged and about to get married!" Hahahaha!

Basta lahat ng kinikwento niya binabara ko. My usual self. Hahaha! Ulol, he even wanted Cathy to go skate away so he could talk to me in private, but she didn't go. Finally he made his hirit to Cathy, "You know? I love your Ate."

POTANGEEENAAAHHH!!!! Supot ang gago!!!! I skated away right then and there. Manigas siya. Eventually he left, thank goodness! And Cathy and I went back to skating. By that time, the figure skaters were already doing their thing. A bit later, Tita Oyet came back from grocery shopping, and Cathy and I skated for another hour and then we went to have merienda at the food court, and then we went home. :D

Blogging In The Davao Airport

And I'm so happy! I made the right decision to spend my birthday in Davao with my family. I also made the right decision in extending my vacation in Davao up to two weeks. Davao is where I come home to my family. I was able to do a lot with them for the past two weeks. First there was my birthday; and then I really got to bond with Catherine, my cousin from Oklahoma; the entire family went to the beach and had a blast; then the following weekend, we went to High Ponds for an overnight stay; I watched my cousin Andrea's silent drill, and I saw how Tita Oyet and Papa Gimoy were so emotional to see how grown up their niece was; of course the sleepover with the little cousins; then there was the frequent dinner get-togethers just because; and then there was meeting Enzo, Joey, Jigz and Jillian, who were technically my aunts and uncles but I'm older than them; Cathy, Tita O and I each had a haircut at this Korean Salon; and home service massages by the family suki Edmer; and all that durian fest! it's like everyday we end up opening at least two durian fruits to chow down!

The best thing about my stay is all the talking. I think this is the first time that I've had the adult-type talks with my Lola, uncles and aunts. They told stories about their childhood that I haven't already heard, and I told stories about what my life's been like lately. I also was able to talk to Andrea about adult stuff! Our age gap is 6 years, so we really didn't have much to talk about. However now that she's a senior in high school, I can talk to her about anything and everything and she'll get it. And all the talking with everybody has made me appreciate my mother even more. When she left after my birthday, my grandma, titos and titas talked a lot about her, mostly about what it was when she had me and how she raised me. There was even a mini-reunion with a few titas who were close with my mom and Tita O and they keep saying how much I resembled my mom, even with my voice and my laugh.  Nako, naiiyak na ako. Hehehe!

Of course I gotta give a shoutout to my very good friend Aimee, the only non-family person I met up with during my stay. We talked a lot and the time we had was not enough at all to fit in all of the stories we had to tell each other. So next time, we'd most likely start our bonding in the morning, and not over dinnertime! :D

It's time for me to go now. I'm going back to Manila, and I'm going to start a new chapter of my life there.

Thanks for remembering me...

That Gaby Fay is so thoughtful! And I love her drawing of me! The kid's very observant, I might say. Then a few more kids gave me notes and letters.

I Miss My Parents

sexy back
My parents are coming home next weekend, and thinking about it makes me realize how long I haven't seen them. Gosh, I can't even remember when it was anymore. I think it was a month ago or even more since they've been here, since I last saw them. I miss them so much. I know they'll be coming home in less than a week, but it seems so far away.

This has been the longest time that we haven't seen each other. Big deal, right? I mean, it's only been a month or so. But it's so so long for me already. I'm not used to not seeing them in such a long time. Even when I was still living in Manila 3 years ago, I get to see them every two weeks because they had to fly in for business meetings with important people. But now there aren't any more business meetings out of town because all the important people are there in Manila.

I then realized that they're part of the reason that I'm getting more and more excited to live in Manila again. This is way opposite than before when I thought that part of the reason why I wanted to go back to Manila was to get away from them. I dunno, maybe it's because I'm really all alone in this big house and I have nobody to talk to. I'm talking about the face-to-face kind of talk I have with them during dinner time where we tell each other what happened during our days and we laugh about it or get mad about it and we always sympathize with each other about it.

One week. One week to go. Then I'll see you guys and we're gonna go white water rafting. And talk. A lot. I just miss you guys so much...

Just Now!

Finally! I have internet sa bahay. It was installed just last week! The last time we had internet sa house was... Oh my, I think I was still in second year high school that time! Almost 8 years ago, I think! And now, finally there's internet again in the house, after about 2 years of just talking of getting internet, now meron na.

And also, I have just recently signed up with Facebook. After Friendster, Myspace and Multiply, I got tired of making new accounts with other social network sites, so I'd just ignore all other invites. But come mid-June of this year, I decided to give Facebook a go. NAKAKA ADIK MEHN! All the games and applications! Friendster apps got nuthin on the Facebook apps! Hahahaha! Wala lang. Tuwang tuwa lang talaga ako na may magawa na ako sa bahay aside from staring at the boob tube.

The irony of it all is that I'll be leaving for Manila soon, so I won't benefit much from the internet connection. Yeah yeah I keep saying that I'll be leaving for Manila soon but up to now I'm still here, working for Abba's Orchard. Supposed to be up to July 15 na lang ako. We had an agreement na eh, but still wala parin silang nakikitang replacement for me. One side of me wants to really go na by the 15th because I already made plans for my birthday and watching concerts and stuff. The other side tells me to stay until they find a replacement kasi kawawa yung kids if they don't have a second teacher in the room.

Gah. Pahamak na Abba's Orchard yan.

Kids say the darndest things

One of the perks of being a teacher: Kids say the darndest things talaga!

I'll give two scenarios lang that happened today...

Lunch with Samantha...

J9: Does you brother or sister have a girlfriend or boyfriend?

Sam: No they don't.

J9: Really? How come?

Sam: My dad won't allow my sister.

J9: But why? She's 22! I'm even younger than her.

Sam: I don't know why. I told him nga na "It's her choice, it's not your choice." (sabay roll eyes)

Hahahahaha! O diba ang taray sa tatay. Then she also talked about her life in Camiguin. Apparently her family's pretty prominent there so...

Sam: I have a bodyguard there, but I don't like. I always send him away! (sabay roll eyes with matching flip of the hand)

J9: Really? How about here in CDO, do you have a bodyguard?

Sam: No way! I don't want to bring him here to CDO! (roll eyes ulit) I don't know why they give me a bodyguard.

Hahahahaha this kid's super laughtrip. Then there's AJ. I went to the bathroom and when I came back, he was outside by the door just standing. He seemed to be furious or something.

J9: What are you doing there?

AJ: Miss Jaja told us to explore over there but I don't want to explore because it's so hot!!!!

J9: Oh but you have to explore because Miss Jaja told you so. It's part of your presentation. Besides, look at your other classmates, they're out exploring. You're the only one not exploring.

AJ: But I don't wanna go there because it's so hot!!!! We're so very near the equator and do you even know how hot the equator is?! HUH!???!!!! (sabay tulo laway sa gilid ng labi)

He was getting so hysterical already that I didn't know what to say to him anymore. I still made him go out and explore, though. And afterwards he just grabbed a leaf and went back inside the classroom and tossed the leaf to Miss Jaja. Miss Jaja was offended by the act so she scolded AJ.

AJ: Well I didn't want to go outside because we're already in the equator and how hot is the equator?!?! (sabay heavy breathing)

Tawa na lang ako ng tawa! Hahahahaha! Hay mga bata nga naman. I'm gonna miss that when I leave the kids next week. Awww it's making me sad na tuloy!
